At first, the fights starts off quickly, hitting the ball back and forth, but the faster the ball gets, the slower the game's speed becomes. The game takes this formula and simplifies it very well with a unique idea. Like any fighting game, this game is all about timing and predicting the opponent's movement. The faster the ball, the more damage it does to you.You can move the ball in 5 ways: a normal hit in 5 directions that you're facing, a lob which puts the ball into the air temporarily neutralizing ball possession and slowing it down, a catch which fires a ball straight and messes with the timing and flow, a charge up shot which greatly speeds the ball up, and a special shot which moves the ball in a unique way.

Once an opponent hits it, it's theirs and it can hurt you. After you hit the ball, it's yours and you can't be hurt by it, so you can keep hitting it to maintain possession and speed it up. You knock a ball back and forth around a rectangular stage until you hit someone with the ball enough times until they lose a stock. Lethal League Blaze is basically a 2.5D fighting game that's played with a projectiles and not fists. I've played the previous game around 60 hours and I've played this one for 10 so far (beat arcade with all the characters and completed the story mode with all the characters), so I have a pretty good idea of what the game is like. I just have to throw a review up for this game because a.) More people should know about this gem (eat your heart out, r/Tomorrow) and b.) A good community will help this game stay fresh. TL:DR a fun, simple, and unique take on the fighting genre with some great music and style only let down by some minor to major slowdowns (depending the the map).
